Brushing and Flossing your teeth

BRUSHING AND FLOSSING

At Dental Frost Center we teach all of our patients about the importance of regular brushing and flossing. A good dental hygiene starts with good brushing and flossing habits. Brushing is essential and necessary to remove plaque and food debris in your mouth. However, brushing alone isn’t enough. In fact, if you brush your teeth without flossing, you’re still leaving around 40 percent of the surface of your teeth uncleaned! Flossing removes small food particles that get trapped between teeth, where the bristle of your toothbrush can’t reach. Regular flossing can protect teeth from cavities and decay.

The American Dental Association recommends that you brush your teeth twice daily and floss once daily.

What floss should I use?

There are various floss products available on the market, whether it is a simple thread floss or floss made from eco-friendly silk, we recommend that you use flossing implement that works best for you and your budget.
